Awards for Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring

The Award for Teaching Excellence is given annually to two individuals: a junior faculty member who was reviewed the previous calendar year for the AWOT promotion, and a tenured faculty member or instructional staff member selected from a pool of departmental nominations.

Tenured faculty and instructional staff in the School of Science are eligible for this award.
Rules and guidelines
  • Faculty or instructors must teach a course in Course 5 (Chemistry), Course 7 (Biology), Course 9 (Brain and Cognitive Sciences), Course 8 (Physics), Course 12 (Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences), or Course 18 (Mathematics).
  • Courses may be a General Institute Requirement (GIR) or a specialized science subject.
Group nominations by faculty and/or staff are encouraged.
