"Design and implementation of a dense, roving array fro ambient noise tomography and earthquake source characterization" | Xander who works for Shell, will present his group's recent work on passive monitoring with a dense, 3 component seismic surface array in Groningen, The Netherlands (where they have induced production-induced Earthquakes). Their aim is to apply ambient noise tomography, but of course they also acquire small earthquakes with a large, dense array, often in the near-field. | The Friday Informal Seminar Hour [FISH, Earth Resources Laboratory] is a postdoc-run weekly seminar series within the ERL. Topics include research relating to geophysics, and in particular seismology, with applications in Earth resources exploration such as e.g. seismics exploration, microseismicity, earthquake physics, and Earth imaging techniques. The seminars usually take place on Fridays at 12 noon in 54-209 (term-time only). EVENT WEBSITE
